Compassion

I've never felt compassion for a plant before, but I my heart goes out to these wild flowers. They shouldn't have to endure an ostrich attack like this. The shot is made all the more freaky by the presence of the out-of-focus birds in the background.

Wow, that's an uggie. I can't tell if he has one of those protective third eyelids going or if he's just got an ugly, blind ol' evil eye. The gathering clouds of doom are a great touch, too... like they're all lining up to eternally punish the poor wildflower for its wordly sins in some kind of nether world.

What a fantastic photo!! Everything about it is ominous and freaky. Looks like the other birds are rigid sentries and this guy leaned over to hiss a curse at the photographer. I hope Stephen King is looking...

You know, I kind of like to pretend the backgropund is Stonehenge... that way the birds are in England and far faaaaaaaar away from me...
