Knows His Place

This fish knows his place in life: under the sand and out of sight. Once again, I'm reminded of some people who I wish would have the same wisdom.

Are you sure that's not Wilson (from Cast Away)?

You have succeeded in the "donkey-head-in-car-screaming-person" goal with this picture ('cept I'm not a boy.)

This is incredible and actually beautiful in a mosaic kind of way.

But is there any way to find out what kind of fish this is? Anybody have a clue? Any guesses??? Tell meeeeeee......

My guess would be some sort of angler (Lophius). The genus has some 50 members. Any idea where this was taken?

That can't be a real fish. Wow! I'm impressed! :)

It looks like a mosaic; or a stained-glass window from hell.

Alas, I know not from what waters this creature hails. I just hope its know where near the California coast.

"stained-glass window from hell"

That made me laugh out loud at work. :)

Nice picture, Wombat.

He's just like a crazy cartoon. Must be a drag looking like when you're trying to act sophisticated, or applying for a job.

He seemed so unhappy. I couldn't resist cheering him up, via a 15-second photoshop:

Wow, Jack. That is seamless!

It takes a lot of blending and layers to get it exactly right. ;)

HAA!! Excellent smile, Jack! Still might not be enough to land a job...

Jack, that's hilarious! If anything, your version is even a little creepier--imagine that thing looming out of the sediment as you enjoy a dive.
