Bug Eyed

Monica saw my post on the hairworm and dug this up for us. The video speaks for itself (literally), but only watch it if you're okay with watching worms control the brain of a snail from its pulsating home inside the snail's eye stalks.

This is Ugly Overload, people. You knew what kind of site this was when you came here.

I saw this clip several months ago. Just remembering it makes me throw up a little, in the back of my throat...

OH wow that is one of the grossest things I have ever seen. Congratulations.

What's neat is that the snail is obviously not too hurt by the infestation (it helps being a primitive, mostly brainless animal, I suppose) which means that the worms get more efficient use out if it as a host.

Parasites rule the world gang. We can't fight it. ;)

I guess every time I think I heard about the worst possible parasite, there is another one who tops it.

Nasty! The world is a wonderful, amazing, awful place. :D

My high school bio teacher delighted in introducing poor, unsuspecting freshmen to this kind of thing... fortunately, I had her 1st period, and recovered by lunch.

Good god. That's one of the more disturbing and disgusting things I've ever heard of (or seen). Those pulsating worms in the tentacles make me feel a little light-headed. D:

Hmm, now that you've seen this, try reading the 4th issue of the Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service manga. It'll make it that much more terrifying. :D

Surprisingly, I wasn't as grossed-out as I thought I would be. Maybe scrolling through all the pictures on this site before watching the videos desensitized me.

i suppose that one wasn't so bad. there are several more parasites that cause these zombie-like reactions.
